Innovative technologies in the treatment of oncological patients in the Republic of Moldova

On March 6, 2025, the leadership participated in the event that marked the completion of the bunker's construction, funded by the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), the Radiological Security Office and the Radiological Security Committee (Oria), and the procurement of a Linac Linac linear accelerator CI The quality of connection with AIEA contributed to the process of evaluating the security conditions, with the authorization for both the new construction and the linear accelerator, by issuing the radiological permissive acts. Patients with oncological diseases will benefit from a more effective, faster and more individualized treatment.

The new accelerator will serve about 80 patients daily and reduce the waiting time. - The biggest investment in the treatment of cancer in recent decades. The new linear accelerator was necessary to construct, in two stages, of a new modern radiotherapeutic complex (two bunkers), with an area of ​​1200 m2, intended for the location and operation under optimal conditions of two new linear accelerators and other advanced radiotherapy equipment. The first part of the complex was made with the support of the Security Office of the radioactive sources of the Energy Department of the United States Government, within a non -reimbursable assistance program, with a total value of two million dollars. Both bunkers are a premiere for the Republic of Moldova, because the existing ones were built in the early 1950s. The construction of the first part of the complex was finished, and the second part will be ready in July 2025. ”
